Students attend The New Heights Academy for the sole purpose of preparing themselves for a life that is both rich and fulfilling. The school sets out to form individuals who are gentle and polite in bearing, balanced and confident in temperament, courageous in conviction and unhurried in listening — people who take initiative, who pay attention to detail, and who give and receive respect in equal measure.
A graduate of TNHA is expected to challenge themselves daily, to remain committed and faithful to what they begin, to fight against injustice when it is easier to look away, to keep their word, to be careful with money and steady in humour, to stay humble, to work alongside others, to adapt to circumstance without losing composure, and to care for their physical health as a matter of seriousness.
They are asked to hold a vision, to feel gratitude, to know the importance of family, and to keep faith in their Creator — because an education without these interior commitments is, in the end, an education without a spine.
To meet these aims, TNHA provides an environment that is culturally rich, intellectually stimulating and challenging, as caring as it is rigorous. There is scope for growth in every direction of learning. Students are groomed with a secular and international outlook, and the classroom encourages them to enquire, to search, and to learn through their own initiative. A committed faculty directs the energies of students at the cusp of adulthood, who are asked to accept responsibility early — first as class duties and house prefects in Junior School, later as monitors, captains and leaders of house and school.
The fullness of that responsibility lies in being fair, firm and honest. On the sports field as in the classroom, TNHA asks its students to raise the bar of decency and to pursue excellence without quiet exception.
