Chairman's Desk
“Success comes to those who work hard, and stays with those who do not rest on the laurels of the past.”

The New Heights Academy is a dream school. It is the translation of an idea into reality — the dream of a resurgent India that can bring back the glory of its ancient self, where material, intellectual and spiritual advancement went hand in hand. An India of tolerance, humanity, humbleness, non-violence, brotherhood and peace.

We are a nation of 1.25 billion struggling for a footing. Many are pessimistic about what revival looks like. I beg to differ from them. India can have a glorious future if only we find what is good in our past and put into practice even one idea from any one of our eminent men. As Vivekananda said, “Take up an idea, think of it, dream of it, let all your veins, brains and muscles be full with that idea — and success will be yours.”

TNHA shall achieve high standards in academics, and we shall be thankful for them. But we are aiming at much more: the totality of an all-round education. India's future is being molded in India's classrooms. We are trying to make ours worthy of that sentence.

Beyond rigorous scholastic programmes, we seek to develop and nurture the different facets of a child. The school encourages students to participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities — dance, art, drama, sport, social work, environmental conservation. Whether a child is introvert or extrovert, the aim is to grow them into a self-confident individual.

Perhaps the most important thing here is value orientation. Some of what we emphasise does not appear on any board's curriculum. We teach respect for elders; we teach moral education. We teach the “May I help you?” attitude, the “What can I do for you?” attitude. We take deliberate care to instill virtue.

With those qualities, and with the latest that science and technology offer in our classrooms, our children can excel anywhere in the world. We expect them to spread the light. That is our motto.
